Student Organizations

Purdue Filipino Association

As a First Generation student and the first out of her generation to go to college out of state, Dawn wanted to ensure she kept her Filipino heritage and roots close to her. The Filipino Association offers a large variety of events including cultural roundtables, dance workshops, and collaboration events with other Asian Associations across campus! PFA also has a lineage system similar to greek life called Ate-Kuya-Ading (AKA). Dawn is in the Merienda Lineage. From 2022-23 she will serve as the Merienda Lineage Head. She will also be on the external committee and the Fundraising Head for PCN 2023.

Grand Prix Foundation

Purdue Grand Prix is not only the largest collegiate go-kart race in the country but it also is one of the longest-lasting traditions in Purdue.

With her past experience with high-mileage vehicle racing and helping coordinate large=scale choir events in high school, Dawn joined the Grand Prix Junior Board in the fall of 2020.

By May 2021, Monarca transitioned to serve as Director of Special Events for the 65th Annual Race. General responsibilities include organizing large-scale events surrounding the race & leading the Queen Program -- a then pageant now turned female empowerment group.
